Since most of us are workin' for the weekend, as that Loverboy song so tragically laments, I thought I would start a Weekend Edit Series on my blog, showcasing some easy looks for the most anticipated days of the week: Saturday and Sunday.

If you've been following me on my blog or on Instagram , you may have figured out what styles I tend to gravitate toward:

casual
a bit oversized
slightly dishevelled
mostly monochrome

Add a leather jacket to basically any of the above and you've got my signature "look".

I'm not sure what it is, but I have always felt the most comfortable and the most chic in all black, or variations of all black. To match my soul? Maybe. I heard Anna Wintour say the one thing she would never wear was head-to-toe black (watch here).  Oh well.

This weekend I needed something quick, casual and WARM (-20C here in Toronto). We were all about hibernating in the subzero temperatures. With that in mind, I took my oversized cashmere blend sweater from Babaton (Aritzia - no longer current, similar linked below) and paired it with my One-Size-Fits-All trousers from Oak & Fort (similar below). These pants are the epitome of comfy because they are One Size, so the way they fall on your body is just the way they fit. Since I paired oversized + oversized together, I added a more structured leather jacket to taper and reintroduce shape back into the look. Top it off with a slouchy beanie and any pair of sneakers you own, and you're ready for the weekend.

See you on the weekend.
